Summer at Wapiti Ridge
Early July trips are available into the famous Thoroughfare country between Cody and Yellowstone Park. This is considered the most remote spot in the lower 48 states. We pack in using trails up Ishawooa or Deer Creek on the Shoshone National Forest. Then we go over mountain passes at 10,000 feet elevation and enter the Bridger Teton National Forest and the Thoroughfare River basin. Once in this area, we go down to the river and camp. On some trips, we lay over for one night on the way in. As we travel through the mountain valleys, you will see the most beautiful scenery in the world. Millions of wildflowers grow so thick you can smell them as you ride through. Wild animals are visible at almost every turn in the trail.
Shoshone River Trip5-7 days
- This trip goes into the South Fork of the Shoshone River. We leave the trailhead 45 miles from Cody and pack in 15 miles to Marston Creek for the first nights stay. We lay over here a day to fish, sightsee and relax. Then we pack into Bliss Creek Meadows, another seven miles up the trail towards the headwaters of the river. This is a beautiful trip with lots of wild animals, fantastic scenery, good fishing and lots of country to explore. This trip normally runs 5 to 7 days in length.
